PCSPress Coverage Strength
Composite signal for {legal_name} tier-1 press coverage in the last 12 months. TIER-1 IS COUNTRY-AGNOSTIC: "tier-1" = the recognized national newspapers/wires of record in the company's PRIMARY market(s) — the global wire services (Reuters/AP/Bloomberg/AFP/Kyodo/dpa) PLUS the top national broadsheets / financial dailies of the company's HQ country and major operating countries (e.g. Handelsblatt/FAZ in DE, Le Monde/Les Échos in FR, Nikkei in JP, Il Sole 24 Ore/Corriere in IT, El País/Expansión in ES, Economic Times in IN — and Reuters/FT/WSJ/NYT/Bloomberg/CNBC for Anglophone markets as ONE instance, not the whole universe). Pick the appropriate company-market tier-1 set; do NOT under-count strong domestic coverage just because it is non-Anglophone. EXTRACTION RULES: return type="composite_signal" with sub-signals, each 0-100 + source_url. Required sub-dimensions (use these exact names): (a) article_volume_12mo — 0-100 mapped from log-normalized total article count across the company-appropriate tier-1 set (search site:<outlet-domain> filtered last 12 mo and SUM result counts; <5→20, 5-25→50, 25-100→75, 100+→90); (b) press_release_pickup — 0-100 from tier-1 articles that materially summarize a company-issued press release within 72h; <10→25, 10-50→55, 50-200→80, 200+→95; (c) tier1_authority_concentration — 0-100 share of articles published by the top prestigious outlets of the company-appropriate tier-1 set (wires + top national broadsheets/financial dailies) vs total; >60% → 90, 30-60% → 75, <30% → 55; (d) commentary_depth — 0-100 presence of LONG-FORM analyses, named-author columnists, multi-article series → 90; only news briefs → 50. Each signals[].value MUST be a real assessment with citing URLs. ABSENCE vs VERIFIED-LOW (mandatory, CLAUDE.md #4/#5): the floor bands (<5→20, <10→25, <30%→55) mean "VERIFIED LOW coverage" (the company exists in the press landscape but is thinly covered), NEVER "nothing found". If, after searching the company-appropriate tier-1 outlets, you find NO tier-1 article at all about {legal_name} (small-cap, private, B2B niche, or simply non-covered), DO NOT emit floor-valued sub-signals — return type="absent" reason="not_disclosed" so the server marks the index not_applicable (excluded from coverage). NEVER fabricate a ~20-50 floor from absence. Server applies composite_signal_score. PRESERVES the methodology of legacy slugs brand-press-recurrence, pr-newsworthiness-score, media-volume-index, media-quality-index (now deprecated).
